Prescott

A few things I've learned about this new place I live:

1) It must be country, because you can hear birds singing all the time, even at night. Are birds supposed to sing at night?

2) If you go to Wal-Mart or the grocery store after 8:30pm, plan to have the place to yourself. Apparently everyone hear goes to bed early. I am so okay with this.

3) Someone scared me by saying that there are tons of sex offenders in the trailer park somewhat near us. So Jack and I did a watchdog search of where we live here and where we lived in Provo. And we're good. Because Prescott has nothing on Provo. (Look for yourself.)

4) The local libary is pretty good, and it's nice because I can get on the internet here. However, I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons. Should I risk getting TB from the homeless man coughing up a storm, or just pay for internet at my house? Should I just sit here and pretend that I don't hear the couple arguing and swearing at the computers right next to me, or just suck it up and buy the internet? "Decisions are the worst." [Name that movie!]

5) The roads in the area where we live were paved in '94. Only 15 years ago. Wow. See, I told you it's country here.

6) Whoever designed the streets of Prescott was a complete idiot, no offense. The streets all wind and curve aimlessly. So don't try and take a shortcut unless you really know where you're going, because chances are the street will just curve around in another direction. Brigham Young and the pioneers really knew what they were doing with the whole grid system!

7) The ward here is great, with tons of young couples. It's way different than moving into a student ward. Here you stick out like a sore thumb if you're new, but everyone was really welcoming.

8) It's really windy here. And the temps at night are so much colder than during the day. But overall the weather is nice, and I've already gotten to wear shorts.

Well, I have to end this because my session on the computer is about to end. Better go hit the hand sanitizer!

GJWTHF. Oh and quoting Failure to Launch, "What the hell kind of devil bird chirps at night?"

I'm so impressed that you got that quote! And that Failure to Launch quote is hilarious. :) So true! Except I figured out...I think it might be an owl. But if it's an owl, it makes noises all day long, too. Who knows!

Oh, I'm so glad Jen knew because I could hear it in my head but just couldn't place it...it makes so much sense now. :) Oh, and by the way, I didn't know what JMO meant and I have no idea what Jen's comment up there means either! Apparently I'm way out of things...which really comes as no surprise, I suppose.
