Utah Love

I had a nice visit to Utah this past week (well, mostly nice, until the whole grown-up reality set in of having to find a place to live, etc.) Anyways, here are a few things I learned:

  • Jack's new job is way cool. Like he is stud for doing what he does. I got to watch them (another pilot and medics) take off on a flight, and it was really cool. He really gets to save lives now!
  • Jack's new coworkers seem like some of the most friendly, nice people he has ever worked with.
  • Candy Crush is really addicting. And I'm not the only one in our house who's addicted...
  • The really fast highway in Germany is spelled Autobahn (not Audobon), and John James Audobon did not invent it.
  • FDR's middle name should have been, but was not, D'Eleanor.
  • 24 Hour Fitness in Provo still has awesome classes, and those Utah people are strong!
  • I went to Zumba and am happy to say that even though I am in my 30's, I still have some moves!
  • My littlest sister (Lauren) thought I was 26. Nice!
  • Utah is beautiful. I already knew this I guess, but living in Vegas has helped me to appreciate the beauty even more. :)
  • Utah is hot during the day in the summer, but you can't beat those Utah summer nights!
  • Jack and I both get really cranky when we're stressed and irritated. Oops.
  • Utah traffic still sucks sometimes.
  • Never ever ever try to pass when there's a double yellow line.
  • My sister Erica is an awesome actress and can be quite the spitfire! Also, she had AMAZING hair for her show.
  • My 6th-grade self was quite the talented, or at least entertaining, author.
  • A family dramatic reading of my 6th grade short stories can provide some much-needed comic relief.
  • I used to think Erica was really weird, but I don't anymore. :)
  • 25 Main in St. George still has some of the best cupcakes around, and the Almond Joy flavor did not disappoint.
  • Jack gets a 70% discount at Cafe Rio in Vernal, and the cashier already knows him, ha ha.
  • When push comes to shove, I can shower in a tiny little time machine device. Okay, it really was a shower, but it was small! I guess it was good practice for Europe...

I love reading about your doings! And I'm so impressed that you find the joy even though life isn't always what you planned. I love you :)
