A Decision...Finally!

So I finally decided what job to keep yesterday - Monday was my deadline, so I kind of had to choose. Over the weekend I kept flip-flopping until I thought about hypothetically going in to work - which place would I rather be going to? And my decision was ARTEC! I figured I can work 4 10-hr shifts each week, and change to 3 12-hr shifts later if I want. ARTEC is just so flexible, and I really don't need more than Fridays off. Okay, I guess I don't even need Fridays off, but I want them! So my boss talked to me first thing in the morning, and I told her I was staying. She's great - she's really advocated for me to stay and is trying to really make it worth it to me. She told me that if I left, she was leaving! Not that she really would, but I got the picture. She really wanted me to stay. I hadn't even told many people that I was thinking about leaving, but when they found out I was staying they sure were glad. One lady even got a little teared up talking about how glad she is that I'm staying - I'm the one she can vent to and I'm her buffer for one of the docs there. All in a day's work! :) It's good to feel wanted, and I do like it there at ARTEC. So it was all a false alarm, but one that worked out pretty well for me. I'm looking forward to my new schedule, though one of the docs is a little resistant. I guess she'll just have to deal. I called CFC and told them - they were really nice about it. I think they get it that nurses are hard to come by, and it's always a competition to get them to work for you. I'll stay at CFC part time for who knows how long. It's kind of tough to work weekends, but I do like it there. Plus they are really short on nurses right now. So yeah, my decision's finally made - thanks goodness!
