Ode to Geico

Okay, it's not really an ode, but it's excessive praise for this great company, in anecdotal form.

So lately I've had tons of cracks in my windshield. 4 dings and 3 long cracks to be exact. How does that even all fit on one windshield? I've never replaced the windshield on my car, and I'm sure it's somehow weaker than when it was brand new. And all my commuting just doesn't help. So needless to say, the windshield made my car look pretty trashy. We've been talking about fixing it for awhile now, and a few weeks ago I finally cracked down and called Geico about it.

When I called, I got through to a live person right away, and this person didn't even have an accent! Not that I'm biased against people with accents, but it really inhibits communication when the accent is so strong that you can't understand what the other person is saying. So then this Geico rep told me that with our coverage, fixing dings would be free and completely replacing a windshield (which is what we'd need) would be only $50! For the labor and windshield - everything. Fantastic!

Then to add to that, the company they use here in Provo actually comes out to your location to do the work. And this Geico rep set up the appointment for me while I was on the phone. How easy is that? I called on a Friday, and the next day a repairman was out at our apartment fixing my windshield, and for only $50! Plus, the whole phone call to Geico was probably less than 10-15 min. I love Geico. Oh, and one more plus - they send you an email with a picture of the repairman coming out to your house. I think that's awesome, because it makes you feel a little more secure knowing that the whole thing is legit.

So, in summary, I love Geico. Love it, love it, love it. And I have a brand new, ding-free windshield!

Awesome - yeah, Geico was the insurance company that took care of our accident, and things went so smoothly! They've never given us the best quotes, so we don't use them, but definitely points for customer service!
