Bummer, man

So I had my follow-up appointment today for the surgery I had a few weeks ago. It was pretty disappointing, because my doctor told me everything was normal. I know that might sound funny to say that's disappointing, but it puts me back at square one. If they at least found something wrong, then they could fix it and hopefully that would help. But he told me there was no endometriosis, minimal scarring from my appendectomy (this scarring wouldn't really affect anything), and no pathological cyst. Bummer, man!

The nice thing about being a doctor is that you don't have to fix anything. My doc pretty much got off the hook by telling me that everything's normal and he hopes things work out for me. I guess I can't expect doctors to be miracle workers, but that sure would be nice.

If you look at things pessimistically, it pretty much stinks because I wasted a lot of money, plus went through surgery, for nothing. But if you look on the positive side, at least they checked things out. That's one more diagnostic procedure that's done with, and we can go on from here. The game plan is to wait about six months, then probably see a specialist. And at least we live in Utah, since they have good docs here for such problems. Oh, and I can't forget the other part of the game plan - drown my sorrows in chocolate tonight! :)
