All in a Day's Work
Yesterday at work...
A kid told me, "You're the trendiest nurse I've ever seen." I was flattered, but what do you say to that? Well, my response was, "I try!" :)
I weighed a client, and this kid was definitely not happy about her weight. She was so upset about all the weight she's gained that she started getting agitated and was pretty much yelling at me, so much so that another nurse poked her head in the room to make sure everything was okay. I was pretty sure the girl wouldn't hit me, so I continued with the assessment. She was in tears by the time we were done and told me she never wanted to do this weekly assessment again. I do what I can!
The medical director at work told me that I'm one of the best nurses he's ever worked with (and he's worked in New York and at different treatment centers here in Utah). Somehow I don't think the girl I weighed would agree with him! It was nice to get such a great compliment, though - I feel so busy with working 2-3 jobs, and it's been a tough week. So it's nice to get some appreciation and to be able to feel good about the work I do.
