I seriously love days off of work. It sure helps that I always have 3-day weekends anyway, so when we have Mondays off the 4-day weekend is amazing! So what have I done with my time? I started out by going to bed super late last night. Jack went to sleep around 10pm because he's been sick, so I got on the computer and spent hours planning my upcoming trip to New York. Seriously - researching bus schedules, where the good restaurants and dessert places are so we can coordinate them into our schedule without traveling all over NYC, how much we can see each day, if the Bolt Bus or Chinatown Bus is better (definitely Bolt), when the Met opens, etc. Once I get started I just can't stop. So I've got a tentative itinerary, with everyone's favorite activities/sites included. It's just tentative in case people want to do things differently, but I figure if I have a game plan then at least we'll have some sort of plan in case no one else has one. Then I went to bed around 1:30am. :)
This morning I started off the day with yoga - wish I could do that more often! It was my other favorite teacher (Brittany), and the class definitely kicked my butt. Then I went to get the oil changed (love having time to get things taken care of!) - while waiting I perused Wal-Mart which is fun, but also dangerous because I found about a million things I need/want. They're kind of needs, but I can't afford it all right now. New skillet, electric skillet, cutlery set, mixing bowls, shower curtain, etc. Don't worry - the shower curtain will happen ASAP (once the budget starts over). I did find a few little plastic bins for $1 and once I got home I used them to organize one of our kitchen drawers that's been KILLING me. So that was good. I even dusted my car, which was badly needing that. I cleaned the shower and the bathroom counter (which I had just cleaned 2 days ago, but then Jack decided to cut his hair yesterday). :) Our timing always seems that good.
So now I'm done being productive, at least for a little while. I just love free time and time to do those little things you never seem to get to. Oh, and taking a nap and watching Oprah will be nice, too...
