Spring Cleaning

I had to do some laundry this morning, so I decided to do a little organizing and spring cleaning while waiting between laundry loads. I cleaned out the fridge and freezer and cupboards (so much more room in the freezer now!), organized the linen closet, and cleaned out some junk drawers. My favorite task to get done was cleaning out my recipe book drawer - I've collected random recipes on sheets of paper in the form of emails to ward newsletters, so I finally sat down and typed up all the ones I wanted to keep. Now I'll have them all in the same format, and I got to throw away all the random scraps of paper! So good.

I even went through my clothes and found some to get rid of. I love throwing away/donating things! Luckily I consulted Jack on a few things before throwing them away (like his Buckle watch). He hasn't worn it in forever! But I'm fine if he wants to keep it until my next cleaning frenzy...

Well, that's about it. Hopefully the organizing/cleaning bug will stick with me since I have a few more tasks left (the second bedroom closet - always needing help), and the laundry room shelves. I've been thinking of this quote lately: "Cleaning house is like putting beads on a string with no knot at the bottom."

I love cleaning! I was just at my grandparents' house and we cleaned out her cupboards...I love getting rid of clutter. :) I have a secret dream of being on TLC or HGTV one day helping people "let go"! :)

Actually, the quote is " Keep ing house is like threading beads on a string with no knot at the end" It say's that on Mom's apron!

Mom was also in a cleaning frenzy with my room. Honestly, she had good reason to. The mess was rising to my bed.
