Jack and I were watching Man vs Wild a few weeks ago (the show on Discovery Channel where Bear Grylls goes into the wild and tries to survive), and it was way cool because the helicopter dropped him off at Victoria Falls in Africa. So beautiful and breathtaking! And that same morning I caught a little bit of The Today Show when they were doing the "Where in the World is Matt Laur" segment - he was in the Seychelles, which are also so gorgeous! So it got me thinking about traveling and how I want to see the world! I started researching things online and decided that I needed some maps. You can't get more concrete, accurate data than on a map. I had a giftcard to Borders (thanks Kathleen and Todd!), so Jack and I hung out at Borders the next night just looking at books. After probably an hour of poring over all their atlases, I chose this one:
I was super glad I hadn't already spent the giftcard before, because this is something I was really excited about! Call me a nerd, but I love it. I really am passionate about traveling and hope I get the chance to see some cool places. For now I have plenty of places to see stateside, but I hope over the next 5-10 years I'll get to make some foreign trips. Maybe starting with a trip to Amsterdam next year to pick up Christa from her mission?? We'll see, but I figure it'd be a great excuse to go. These are my top five trips I want to make:
1) Brazil (Rio de Janiero with the Christ the Redeemer statue, and Iguazu Falls)
2) Africa - a safari that takes you to Victoria Falls (I guess I like the waterfalls :) )
3) Europe - France, Italy, the British Isles
4) Australia
5) Pacific Islands, like Fiji (or the Caribbean would be cool to start with)
I figure if I space them out I could maybe do them all in my lifetime? :) We'll see, but for now at least I have a fun book to read over and to use to plan my trips! Because we all know this girl loves planning!

Sounds like a great book! I love bookstores...I definitely am way overdue on a visit myself.
And, by the way, you're a posting maniac these days! (In a totally good way.)
Yeah, it's catch-up time for my blogging. :) So I think it'll calm down now...
Ye HAW!!!! just make sure you don't pay a ridicoulous price for a plane ticket!
