Perfect Friday Night

I love Friday nights like last night. It started off with a few hours of free time (while Jack was at the gym, then cut his hair). So I got to catch up on So You Think You Can Dance (watched the Vegas episode that I missed Thursday night since I was at work). Then Jack and I went for a short hike up Rock Canyon, and it was so pretty. I don't know if I've been up there this time of year before. It was so green, and with all the snow melt the little river coming down the canyon was literally a babbling brook. We saw tons of people camping, so now we know where to go for a short overnight camping trip. It's so pretty because you can set up camp in the trees right by the river, so we're hoping to go in a few weeks.

After our hike we went to the grocery store to get a "treat." So we leisurely strode through the aisles until we found what we wanted (Junior Mints for me, and cinnamon raisin bread for Jack). :) Oh, and nutella to have crepes with ice cream again. And we picked up our Redbox movie for a quiet night at home (National Treasure 2).

I love these laidback Friday nights where you can just get up and go for a hike in the mountains if you want. When there's nothing you have to do and you can do anything you want to do. Good times. And it was great to enjoy the wonderful weather outside. Luckily we've got a few barbecues and a camping trip planned, so there will be more outdoor fun to come!
