New York Scare

First of all, I need to do a follow-up entry for my last post. Jack got home that night and I told him my whole "twilight zonish" ordeal with United Airlines customer service. I asked him to call and see if he could take care of it the next day. But he wanted to just do it now, so he called them that night. He must have good luck with customer service, because he got the claim filed and everything in all but 10 minutes! And it was a pretty funny phone call. The guy asked Jack what was missing. Well, it just so happened that what was taken were some Victoria's Secret bras. Weird, huh? But expensive! So Jack tells the guy, "I guess some guy thought my wife's undewear would look good on his girl, so he took it!" Then the United guy tells Jack that they have 48 hours after a claim is filed to find the missing items. So then Jack says, "Well, good luck! Cuz you're gonna have to be looking under women's shirts to find them!" It was pretty funny. And at least we got it taken care of!

So on to my story of the day. I'm at Wal-Mart today and get a call from a 1-888 number. I answer, and it's an automated message from Travelocity telling me that my flight itinerary has changed for a trip I just booked to New York. I'm thinking, no big deal, because usually when these changes happen it's by only like 15 minutes. Well, then I find out that instead of leaving at 9:55am, my flight is now leaving at 12:55am! What??!! And still arriving in Newark at the same time!

I was pretty stressed by it, because who wants to leave in the middle of the night and be exhausted at the start of your trip? Then I'm thinking, how in the world can a flight that should take 4 1/2 hours now take 13 1/2 hours? Are they taking us to New York the long way (west from SLC?) :) So I figure I'll call and get this taken care of later, but I'm not looking forward to all the time I'm going to waste with customer service. Because they can't just change my flight like that! Then I check my email, and it says my itinerary has changed, but now it's back to the original time. So I just got off the phone with travelocity, because I'm thinking - I really need to know what's going on here! Turns out my itinerary is now what it originally was. Talk about worrying for now reason. I'm glad it's all good now!
